Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 September 2026
Solo Supper is a single-portion meal planning app and website. This
policy explains what information is collected when you use it, why,
and what is done with it. In short: very little is collected, none of
it is sold, and it exists only to make the planner, shopping list and
optional cloud sync work.
Who is responsible for this data
Solo Supper is developed and operated by an individual developer
(Neil Fletcher). If you have any questions about this policy or your
data, contact apps@trooperlooper.co.uk.
What information is collected
Solo Supper works without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, the following applies:
- Account information: if you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication receives your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account, so your meal plan and shopping list can sync across your devices. This is optional — the app works without signing in, using storage on your own device instead.
- Your meal plan and shopping list data: if you're signed in, the recipes you've planned and your shopping list are stored in Google Firestore (a cloud database) against your account, so they carry over between devices.
- Purchase status: if you buy the one-time recipe unlock (£1.99) in the Android app, Google Play Billing processes the payment. Solo Supper never sees or stores your card details — Google handles the transaction and the app only receives confirmation that the purchase was made.
- Basic usage analytics: the app uses Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to understand broad usage patterns, such as which screens are opened, so the app can be improved. This is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
What is not collected
- No advertising identifiers, and no ads are shown in the app.
- No payment card or bank details — these are handled entirely by Google Play.
- No data is sold to third parties, ever.
- No data is shared with anyone beyond the Google/Firebase services listed above, which are needed to make sign-in, sync and the recipe unlock work.
Where your data is stored
Account and meal-plan data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication
and Firestore), operated by Google under its own security and privacy
practices. If you never sign in, your meal plan and shopping list stay
only on your own device and are never sent anywhere.
How long data is kept
Your account and synced data are kept for as long as you keep your
account. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted,
email apps@trooperlooper.co.uk
and it will be removed.
Children's privacy
Solo Supper is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect
information from children.
